Suzanne Goff, our District 39 Differentiated Instruction website
administrator, designs, regularly researches, and updates the DI39 website which
is now linked to many other educators' websites outside our district.
Cathy Flemming, Sue Flachsbart, Suzanne Goff, Katie Lee, Ellen
Logan, Megan Marthens, and Katey Sherman met with the Differentiation
Teacher Inquiry Group in Evanston District 65. Each DST presented a portion
of the story of differentiated instruction in Wilmette. The Evanston teachers
and administrators present at the meeting welcomed their knowledge, passion
for their work, and professionalism.
Amanda Utynek and Cherie Einum, both 6th Grade teachers
at Highcrest Middle School, presented a workshop titled "Going Beyond
the Book Report: Engaging Readers in Grades 4-8" at the 2008 Illinois
Reading Conference.
Katie Lee, Megan Marthens, Suzanne Goff, and Bev Taylor hosted
a visit by administrators and teachers from the Oak Park Schools. These
DSTs not only shared the ways teachers work together to differentiate for
all of their students, they also modeled best practices in co-planning
for instruction as the guests observed.
Kathy Cedoz, 4th Grade teacher at McKenzie Elementary,
has been given the award for "Who's Who Among America's teachers" for
the 3rd year in a row!
Cherie Einum and Liz Kaiser, 6th Grade teacher and Library
Media Specilist at Highcrest Middle School, presented a workshop titled "Challenge
Your Readers With a School-Wide Reading Challenge " at the 2008 Illinois
Reading Conference.
